Basics
Let’s go over some basics:
No, your wife shouldn’t run for senate
No, your wife should not drop your last name.
And no, your wife certainly should not drop your last name in order to run for senate.
Perhaps we could get over Mrs. Darline (Graham) Nordone’s political baggage of being the sister to such a disaster of a Senator as Lindsey Graham.
Perhaps we might even overlook the obvious corruption and perversion of the office of Senator as appointing someone’s sister to the position, as if we were the Late Roman Empire rather than at least still trying to pretend to be the American Republic.
But spurning your Husband’s last name in order to run for Senate? What, is his last name not good enough for you? Not enough name recognition Darline?
Do you lust for power so much, rather than your husband, and do you respect our Republic so little, that you think you can trick the people of South Carolina into voting for you just by taking your brother’s last name over your Husband’s?
Absolutely Disqualifying
It’s absolutely disqualifying.
If you don’t understand the basics about marriage, you won’t understand the basics about government.
If you can’t serve your husband on a local level in your family, you won’t be able to serve your state on a national level in the Senate.
And if you can’t respect the most basic tradition of marriage, that of taking your Husband’s last name, you certainly won’t respect the American tradition.
Women who wish to be Senators should be more ashamed of shaming their Husbands by refusing to take his last name than they are ashamed of his name not being good enough.
But what else is new? This is just another example of one of those “Conservatives” who never conserve anything.
Faithless in Little, Faithless in Much
Larry (last name omitted, since your Wife also omits it). Your Wife doesn’t belong in the Senate. And even if she did, she should at least not publicly humiliate you by repudiating the last name you gifted her when you promised to love her forever.
Darline Nordone (emphasis added to remind you). I hope you lose your primary race, as should all South Carolinians of good will. You do not deserve to be in the Senate.
“One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.” Luke 10:16
You were given your Husband’s last name as a gift, and have proven unfaithful in keeping it. We, therefore, can assume you would also be unfaithful in the United States Senate.
I will pray for your defeat, and that when you are sent home, where you belong, you will show a little more respect to your Husband. You don’t have to call him Lord (1 Peter 3:6), but at least be proud to take his name (your real name) in public. Hopefully he honors you (1 Peter 3:7), you should respect him (1 Peter 3:2).
