You Don’t Have to Be Gay, Actually

Last night I went swing dancing. They had more “Leads” than “Follows” (typical), and so the Leads were sometimes left without a dance partner. During the beginning introduction, they had the Leads rotate counter-clockwise. The couple next to me were two girls (also typical), and after we rotated I ended up next to the girl pretending to be a “Lead.”

Now, it actually shouldn’t have happened that way because there weren’t supposed to be two leads without a partner next to each other, but there was some initial confusion with the rotation. So I stood there as non-awkwardly as I could, joking with her about the confusion. A guy and a girl, just standing there, not dancing, because she was pretending to be a “Lead.” Perhaps I should’ve still asked her to dance, but it was more just learning the moves rather than a full dance, and it’s all just so tiresome sometimes. Whatever.

We continue rotating, but then I notice there’s this guy in front of me who, by contrast, is pretending to be a “Follow.” Oh boy. Sigh. I’ve done that before, very uncomfortable, but hey it’s only gay if you make it gay, right? Besides, the default in polite society is to make others feel accepted, even if they are behaving inappropriately.

But should it be? As the instructors explained in the beginning in their own Liberal-coded way, you’re actually allowed and encouraged to say no to a dance with anyone, for any reason at all. And when I saw the beautiful girl across the room from me it was just too much - I have danced with one too many guys pretending to be girls at this point in my life.

So not tonight Pal. In fact, not ever again - Fuck that. I am not going to freaking dance with a dude pretending to be a “Follow,” with a pretend Lead behind me. Not when there’s still some good in this world worth fighting for. Not when pretty girls still exist, even though they’re doing their best to drive them to extinction.

The world may be ugly. We may live in Hell. But you don’t have to be a faggot, actually.

Could you offend? Sure - perhaps I offended someone just now. Remember though, we’re at war - politeness can return when the faggots stop purchasing kids.

You’re a man. You can’t control someone taking offense, only your courage. Embrace the conflict and suffer for Christ.

Tell them no. Look them in the eyes and tell the fags and the troons no.
