Charlie Kirk, pray for us

Charlie Kirk was killed one year ago today, brutally assasinated on live video.

After his death, a sizable minority of the country celebrated, while others cared little because of what they called his "reprehensible views."

Charlie Kirk was a good person, and his "reprehensible views" were simply basic Christian views on marriage, the Bible, and sexuality. A large minority of the country either couldn't give a eulogy for such a man, or actively celebrated his death.

Charlie was 31 at his death. I was the same age as he was when he was killed. Would they cheer my death if it were me? There is no guarantee that any of us will live another year. None of us are guaranteed tomorrow. We must Memento Mori - Remember Death.

We should take today to reflect on our lives, and whether upon our death the demons will cheer (as they did in America) and whether we will have served Christ as best we could have.

Charlie Kirk was not a Catholic, but there are rumors that he was contemplating conversion. Regardless, I believe that he is in heaven, and can therefore intercede for us as the Scriptures say

Charlie Kirk, pray for us, and pray for me.
