The Joyful Mysteries are Quiet Mysteries

The Annunciation was not witnessed by anyone but Mary and the Angel Gabriel. No one except her witnessed the Incarnation of the Son of God, arguably the most important moment in human history. The Joyful Mysteries starts with Humility as its fruit.

The Visitation, Mary visiting Elizabeth. What is the significance of two pregnant women meeting? Yet an entire mystery of the Rosary is devoted to these three months. Our love of neighbor often goes unnoticed, but can be one of the most important things.

Similar to the Incarnation, Jesus enters the world in poverty and obscurity. Only by having Poverty of Spirit can we accomplish great things - only by acknowledging our dependence on God, and our need for Him, can we be saved.

Sometimes we must simply do as we are commanded, and be obedient to things we do not understand. Or even if we do understand them, sometimes we forget that is only through obedience that we can ultimately follow God.

Through Obedience we then Find Joy in Jesus. Whenever we lose sight of God, and feel as if we are not following Him, the Joyful Mysteries help us get back on the right track - learn humility, love your neighbor (the second greatest commandment), remember you require God's grace and without Him can do nothing. Then you must obey, for Faith without Works is dead. And when you do these things, you will find Christ once again, as you should have expected Him.
